DRYWOOD TERMITES

Evidence of Drywood Termites is called pellets which is their fecal matter. As they are eating the wood the galleries get filled up with their fecal matter and it gets a little crowded. They chew a hole to the outside of the wood and push the pellets out. This is called a kickhole. Below the kickhole you will find a pile of pellets.

Drywood termites are a little more than 1/4' in length. They are cream colored. They get their name from the fact that they can live in "dry" wood. They do not need an external moisture source like other termite families. No contact with the soil is necessary. Because of this fact, they are the most elusive of all termites.
